Don Agustin Vicente Zamorano, Soldier, Statesman and Governor of Alta California.
He is my Great Great Grandfather and also The Great Great Grandfather of my cousin, Linda Ronstadt.
The Story of The Self Portrait
Telling his wife one day that he was going out hunting for doves, he went instead to a favorite spot,
carrying a mirror which he hung from a limb of a tree, and by its aid proceeded to make this self portrait.
Upon his return, he handed the finished work to his wife with the remark, "Here is your dove."

Albert Borders on the left was my Great Grandfather, a Native American from the Asakiwaki/Meshkwahkihaki (Sauk & Fox) Tribe. The photo was taken July 24, 1913 at Half-Way House, Pikes Peak, Colorado. At the time when this photo was taken he was a Law-Man for the Santa Fe Railroad.
